IN NO WHERE DESERT ARIZONA
Up-date as of 03/14/05
**********************************
Well, the last time I attempted to drive out here approximately January 5, 2005 the roads had turned into rivers.
In case you don't remember here is a refresher
1/5/05
****************************************************
Let's have a look at the roads now after many weeks of
RAIN.
Where's the desert?
Believe it or not there is a desert on the other side of the weeds.
I just had to pull over and show how high the weeds were.
Actually the weeds are a little higher than my van.
Also the road has been graded so it makes them about the same height as the van.
*************************************************
Just in case you may have thought I found one spot where they were high, here's another shot of the road in.
For a while I thought some one had been out here sowing Kudzu-vine seeds.
If you have been to the east coast you will know that is.
I don't know what these weeds are called but I do know they are dense & you have to cut your way through them.
Also, you can see the road graders have really been working on the road.
******************************************
This is just unbelievable.
There shouldn't be any thing green along this road and hasn't been for as long as I have been driving out here.
Around that curve up ahead it even gets greener.
*************************************
Look up ahead and to the left, the desert is a bed of green foliage.
Well, so much for the road and the weeds.
By the way, if the word weeds offends you, sorry but that's what they are to me.
**************************************
Hey; if this gets any worse I may not be able to find "No Where Desert Arizona"
I think I may have to get out of the van and go on foot for a spell.
Guess I had better take a photo of where I left the van so I can find my way back! :-)( right??
I just know my "No Where" feeding station is around here some where; I hope???
**********************************************
Actually I am not lost, I believe I could find this place at night with my eyes closed.
I just wanted to show you what the rain has done to the desert in a few months.
Here is what it looked like in Nov.-Dec. of 04
And this is what the desert looked like then.
*********************************************
Here's another shocker. Remember all of those nice rocks I spent so much time putting out?
Just in case you don't here it is or was.
**************************************
But now, what a JOLT.
I ain't pullin no weeds. Then kin jus stay till the sun cooks'em.
**************************************
Even my old blind is over grown with weeds.
*******************************
OK, you've seen the BAD, the UGLY weeds, now let's look at the GOOD.
I have had a tough time keeping these out of my photos so, let's take a look.
**************************
*******************************
In order to show how big these are I set the camera on the ground. They aren't over 6 inches big.
I believe these are called "Owl Clover"

**********************************************************
Oh, there are many birds out here but I can only hear them, not see them.
I'll let you figure out why.
********************************************
One last item before I leave. I have a new resident at my "No Where Desert Arizona" place.
When the time is right I will attempt to photograph it. Right now I don't want to disturb or in any way stress it.
******************************
Maybe in a week or 2 I'll come back out here,
sure hope some one cuts some of these weeds while I'm gone. :-))
