As I had said in my last post,
I have a new visitor to "No Where"
I did not want to disturb it because it seem to extremely skittish or very easily stressed
to the point of flying off the nest and not returning as long as I was in the area.

Several weeks have past while I was gone East and I see something in the nest so I will put up my blind and wait a spell.

In the few years I have been out here I have yet to see a hawk's or owl's nest so this really caught my attention when I first spotted it.

It didn't long to see that the parent bird was not going to tolerate me close enough to do any photography.

I could onlu guess there were only eggs or newly hatched chicks in the nest so I left.

Upon returning a few weeks later I could see through my binoculars that there was some thing moving in the nest.

I did not see any parent bird or birds around so I quickly set up my chair with the camoflodge netting over it.

At first nothing but an empty nest looked back at me, but in a few minutes, guess what.

Up on the edge it went. I was very happy to see the hawk had at least one chick and as it turned out one was all there was.

As it came around to my side it did what all good hawk chicks must do.

LOOK OUT BELOW!!

I have often wondered how they kow to do this.

After watching the nest for an hour or so the one parent bird flew in. I don't think it noticed me untill I shaped the camera shutter at which point it flew off.

In this image that bright yellow patch where the nose hole was very predominate Sibley's says this is and indication of an imature bird in the Red-taile hawks. I will try to get more photos with a stronger lens this Sunday.
