Boggy Tank 11/07

This will be the last time I visit Boggy Tank in 2007

***********************************************************************

***********************************************************

****************************************

10 DAYS AT BOGGY TANK
AND MAN I'M READY TO GO HOME.

Camping out in the forest is really nice but, enough is enough.

So here we go.

Before we go what is this flower that is every where here.

Don't know? http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symbol=ERCI6&photoID=erci6_007_ahp.jpg

HEY MR. PEANUT MAN

SPREAD SOME PEANUT BUTTER ON THE TREE BARK
AND WE WILL BE AS HAPPY AS A
LARK

**********************************************************************************

O'no, they must have seen that extra large jar of peanut butter I have in the van.

Well, I guess I had better get out the big spreader and start putting the peanut butter in the cracks of the tree bark.

The tree is directly in front of where I park my van. so, this should do very nicely.

This is going to a long one so take your time.

It was a gorgeous morning here at Boggy Tank so I had better start spreding that peanut butter.

But first let's take a closer look at the reflection of those tree in the pond, OK?

It's approx. 30 something degrees. When I first got here there was ice on the pond.

*************************************************************************

The Jays are always first on the seen when ever there's food to be had just for the taking.

************************************

Hummm, not much here. I had better find the mother load of peanut butter before others do.

If you have ever seen a Stellers Jay eat then you know how they do.
They just keep putting in their bill until it can't hold any more.

*****************************************************************************************************

WOW, what a surprise , a very nice Mountain Chickadee appeared out of no where.

It has found a scrap of peanut butter the Jays have knocked down.

*******************************************

Didn't take it long to find the tree bark with the peannut butter on it.

***********************************************************

No, there's no one to bother you, so keep on eating.

********************************************************

It was very difficult to get a good focus because
I was photographing through the van's windshield, this also altered the coloring a bit.

******************************************************

Hey budy that's a dry hole your peckin in.

*******************************************************

*********************************

***************************************

Are you sure your not related to the Stellers Jay?

Now that you have it what are you going to do with it, I don't think you swallow it.

*************************************

************************************************

Last but not lease the Pygmy Nuthatch

Well, it's about time you pygmy Nuthatches showed up.

**********************************

*****************************************

*******************************************

****************************************

****************************************

*************************************************

Well, that's about it for the peanut butter, tree, and the birds that came to partake of it.
