Great-tailed Grackles
Quiscalus mexicanus
********************************
If you look at their tail while they are flying it looks a boat rudder.
Eats almost any thing it can find or kill.

Map & range may not be to any scale.

Male
Most of the time you will see this bird as all black.
When the sun is on it it has a purplish gloss.

Note how the bill is pointing upwards. Many times they will do this as a territorial sign.
