7/15/07 Grand Canyon National Park.

It seems like I have been running into more & more dripping water situations here lately
I headed out on/to the east rim drive. I decided to stop and check out the South Kaibab Trail Head at YAKIE POINT
Yes, I have been here in the past. But, you know, it never hurts to take a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th look see.
Who knows you may see something you missed in the past trip.
Yakie point is only accessed by shuttle bus or I should say the South Kaibab Trail Head is only accessed by shuttle bus.
Parking the old van I started to walk towards the trail head. Within a few feet I found a drinking fountain I hadn't notice on past trips here.
Being a hot day I decided to fill my water bottles and get a drink for my self.
While doing this, and much to my surprise, a couple of Pygmy Nuthatches
flew in and started to drink from a small puddle under the fountain right while I was standing there and drinking from the fountain.
O'boy I thought, what a foto place. I instantly ran to the van and got out my camera, tripod & a nice canvas folding chair & down I plunked.

When I moved the Nuthatches flew off but not very far, just to a very near by tree to watch for me to leave.
As soon as I did they flew back down to the water puddle.
OOPS, I spook to soon.
Up popped a family of very thirsty people.
However this lad did have difficulties in getting a drink
********************************************************
How many birds are down there?
*************************************
1 Through 4 Pygmy Nuthatches, 5 taking a bath Mountain Chickadee.
*******************************************
This one got almost to close to photograph.
If you look close you can see its dark eye.
****************************************************************
Chickadee is still bathing.
*********************************************************
Watching the dripping water & trying to catch the drips as they fall.
**********************************
It doesn't take much of a puddle for them to get a drink.
**************************************************************
Enough of the Pygmys for now.
Well if those pygmys can do it so can I.
**************************************************
Well, so far, so good.
*********************************************
One just can't be to cautious
*******************************************************
I finally made it.
********************************************************
Up to the tree again to dry off.
*************************************************
Not again, this bird just can't get enough of bathing I guess.
*************************************************
Hey; any buddy car if I join in?
*********************************************************
I'm getting closer.
********************************************
I guess with all of the activity it was afraid to come down.
