I photographed this skunk at the south rim of the Grand Canyon 7/15/07 2 AM.

I believe it came up out of the canyon and got on the walkway
wall to partake of the scraps the tourist had left behind.

When at the canyon I will often sit out side the Bright Angel Lodge over looking the canyon to be able to photograph any critters that might come to eat scraps.

I have never seen the type of skunk before and to look it up.

Striped Skunk - Mephitis mephitis
The striped skunk is omnivorous, it eats both meat and plants.
diet includes insects, small mammals, fish, crustaceans,
fruits, nuts, leaves, grasses and carrion (dead animals).
Skunks are members of the weasel family
