HOW DO I GET TO THE PATON'S HOUSE?
Highway 82 is the main street through the town. Watch your
speed.
From Hwy. 82 turn north on to 4th. Avenue, when you come to
Pennsylvanian Avenue turn left or west.
As soon as you cross the Sonoita
Creek the Paton's house will the first one on your left.
There is a sign
on the fence. Please do not block the driveway.
The road in front of there
house to the left or west will lead to the Patagonia - Sonoita Creek Preserve.

Rustic, all rooms are on the second floor. Rates approx. $45.00 to $70.00. Found them to be clean & neat for a nights stay. The food was good & reasonable. It's the only motel in town that I know of, but it's only a 5 min. drive to the Paton's front yard.

but if you ask the Paton's they will know, they eat there.

Payson, Arizona.
A lot of nice appearing motels in this town. This is a tourist Mecca on week ends. The motels rates sky rocket. The week end I was there the lowest rate I could find was about $90.00 w/tax. From there they went up & up & up. I priced one at $150.00, to rich for me.
After scoping out all I chose this one. No pedicular reason just tired of scoping them out. It was a good choice. IWhy you ask? If no other eason than the shower head had no water restrictor in it and you could get a very nice shower with the water coming out at a rate that you acculally get wet under, bot, did ever feel good. In most of the motels I have staied in the past couple of years have put water restrctors in their water pipes and the shower water comes out at what I refere to as a high speed DRIP.

Rustic, older units, Cabins I've been in have 2 beds, & a hide a bed, refrigerator, stove, shower & stool, full kitchen, heat, no air, no phones, no TV. It's very good birding & your only a 3 minute walk over to the Spoffords back yard. 5 minute drive to the Portal store & restaurant.
