Opuntia Aciculata
This is without a doubt the largest cactus genus. It has some 360 species in a range from Canada to Argentina. You may know this cactus as Cholla, Indian fig, Bunny ears, and Prickly pear. The flowers may be red or yellow and it produces a fruit that can be eaten. I have seen these cactus as high as 12 feet and 30 feet wide.
