Yellow-rumped Warblers
Audubon's - Yellow rump Warbler
The Western species.
*********************************
At one time the Audubon's & the Myrtle & Yellow-rumped Warblers were
considered to be one species. Now they are considered to be 2 separate species.
I see in the book the Myrtle has a white eye brow & white throat. None of the below images do.
I also see that the Audubon's is a darker color and has black cheaks
In the East a Myrtle and in the West it's an Audubon's Warbler.
The Myrtle's has the yellow rump & yellow patch on both sides just in front of their wings.
The Myrtle's has a white throat and the Audubon's has a yellow throat.
*******************************
Inasmuch as we have the Eastern species (Myrtle) and the Western species (Audubon's)
I do not know where to put the dividing East-West line.

The following images were taken at Phoenix's Rio Salado in South Central phoenix 01/2008

HUMMMM, wonder why they call this a Yellow Rump?
Well, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out.
*****************************
I figure it they are going to call this bird a Yellow Rump, the yellow would be back here :-))
*************************************
Gee, what a strange posture this is.

Images below taken at an earlier date and a different place.
The following images were photographed in Flagstaff, Arizona, in the Arboretum on 07/30/02.

First of all let me say, I did not cut that limb off.
I can only assume it was done by the Arboretum's grounds keepers.
That running stream water sure looks like a good spot to take a bird bath.
You might note the yellow cap, yellow throat patch, & the yellow patch in front of the wing.
Also there is no white stripe above the eye as in the Myrtles.
****************************
Yep. I do believe I am going to try it.
*************************************
OH, this water feels so good & cool.
**************************************
Nice-nice-nice. Now if I can just get my feathers nice and wet.
*************************************
That sure was refreshing.
Now, if I can just find a nice limb to dry off on and preen all of my feathers back in to shape.

as of 12/04 a few new images
