An opera star its not.

Turkey Vultures are limited as to making sounds.
They Hiss & can Grunt.
I have seem them stomp one foot when approaching a dead carcasses.
Their body postures is another way they have of communicating.
This photo was taken at Kit Peak and I was to far away to
note any vocalization coming from its open beak.
In the late afternoon, this is a good place to see the Vultures perched in the trees.

This tree is just east of the the Paton's house in Patagonia, Arizona on Pennsylvania Ave.
just as you cross the dry creek.
You can see them there in early morning and in the evening.
This photo was taken on October 9 1999 approx. 7:30 AM.
There are 19 Turkey Vultures in this photo.
Had I got there earlier there would have more.
You say you can't see all 19, well I will make another print and
try to point them out to you. See below.
