*******************************************

After making many trips to the nest area, tjhis shall be my last trip.
The birds may have fledged already but we'll soon see.

Arriving once again at 6 AM I looked at the nest and thought it was empty

*****************************************************************

Yes, at first glance I did not see any birds in the nest, what a disapointment I thought, HOWEVER.

*******************************************************

The sound of the cameras shutter must have made enough noise to awaken the chicks & up they popped.

There were three in there 10 days ago so, one must have already fledged.
Well, two is much better than non & these birds look hungry.

***************************************************

And just then MOM shows up with breakfast.

Now, which one to feed first.

*****************************************************

This is going to be tricky, 2 mouths so close together and only one bug.

***************************************************

***********************************************

OH-NO

The parent bird flew off with the bug and did not return to feed it to the chicks.

*************************************************************

Well, if'n you aint gonna feed us, I'll jess hope over to one o them tree branches.

*****************************************

And sure enough it did just that.

but only after it had preened it feathers.

*********************************************

But just then mom shows with a small bug but feeds it to;

*******************************************************

The younger bird.

******************************************************************

The outer chick looks really disgusted & I believe it's ready to fly the nest.

********************************************

Good by lil'ole nest mate,
I'll be seein you around out in the tree branches in a few days.

*********************************

And before you could blink it flew off.

Gee, it sure lonly out here.

**********************************************

I sure hope my mom finds me and feeds me.

****************************************************

HEY MOM I'm over here; hurry I need food.

*************************************************

Maybe I should-a staid in the nest a while longer.

***************************************************

I think maybe I should fly to a higher branch so she can find me better.

OH, this fly'n stuff is not as easy as I had thought it would be.

**********************************

Well, I am on a branch, but it seems much lower than the one I was just on.

**********************************************

I'll try to work my way back up into those higher branches once again.

Well, a feller has to start some where doesn't he.

***********************************************

Maybe if I just sit here a while she come by and stick a worm down my throat, maybe.

***************************************

I can see ya mom, I am down here, so come on down with that juicy worm.

************************************

So down she flew to baby chick.

********************************************

Right above these two was a whole in the foliage and I could see the nest
and the other parent was feeding the one remaining chick so I quickly held the camera up to get a photo through the leaves.

***************************************************************

Sorry to late.

I'll just call this my TAIL shot.

********************************************

In the meantime the little feller tried its luck at flyin again.

OH-MAN,
this is really a bummer,
I'm really hung-up on these thorns and stickers.

******************************************************

Well, I got one wing free now for the other one and I'll sure get outa here.

****************************************

Now this is much better, don'tcha think?

******************************************************

I really could use another worm about now.

***************************************************

Right on que, yep, that's my mom forya

**********************************************************

I sure wish she pick off those wings before she feeds it to me.

*********************************************************

AH, there's nothin like a good worm or bug to make a feller feel good all over and safe for a while.

***************************************************

I'll tell'ya these kids are ware'n me out.

*****************************************

Don't'cha think you've taken about enough pitchers ole Earle?

So I left the Bells Vireo family to live happily ever after.

*****************************************************************

Many thanks for visitin my vireo family,
and yall come back ya'hear and
check ole Earle's web site for more interestin bird fotos.

*****************************************************************

Just in case you were wondering how I got these images here it is!!

D70s camera - 500 mm lens and sometimes a 1.4 tele converter on it.

This kept me approx. 20 to 30 feet away from the bird at all times.

I al have cropped many of the images and that makes them look ever more magnified.
