This bird is LOST!!

September 2002 I photographed this Titmouse in Payson Arizona approximately 700 miles out of its normal range.

In fact I had never seen one until now so I had to put it on my web site to get it identified.

I am going to say it is a Gray-crested morph. I say this because the books say the Black-crested has a white forehead and this bird does not.
There are many Titmice in Arizona but none look like this one that I have ever seen.

It eats insects, seeds like the sunflower seeds best, berries, suet.

On Jan. 23 2003 I was told that this is a
Juniper Titmouse (Baeolophus ridgwayi),
by a Mr. Robert Smith at privateconservation@msn.com

I am going to leave it the way it is for a while longer.

As you can see it is eating the sunflower seeds I threw down to entice it to stay long enough to photograph.
