Body length approximately 15 inches. Note the long pink legs.
Also the black down the back of the bird's neck, hence, "Black-necked Stilt".

Gilbert is just east of phoenix and is considered part of the greater Phoenix area.

The large white bird is a Snowy Egret.

Walking around the edge of the lake I ran into this little feller.

Killdeer on the left Stilt on the right.

I thought this bird was truley tame.

I am now only 10 feet from it.

I think I will get away from this bird it may have something wrong with its legs or it's just not afraid of me.

Well, I guess all wasn't as bad as I had thought.
