Red-naped Sapsucker
Sphyrapicus nuchalis
Map and range not to any scale nor is it absolute
************************************************************
OK, let's see if we can find a female and a male Red-naped Sapsucker.
03/11/07 Boyce Thompson South Western Arboretum
just off highway 60 approx, 70 miles east of Phoenix.
************************************************************************
I could tell you that this is a FEMALE and more than likely you would believe me.
However I must be careful because there just may a few experts viewing this.
Can you see or tell if this is a male or female Red-naped Sapsucker?
*********************************
Let's look at another image, OK?
Now can you see the difference between the 2 birds?
***********************************
Perhaps we need a much closer look at these 2 birds.

Can you see how this bird supports it self when on a tree trunk?
Just in case you were wondering this the male.
