Photos taken Thanksgiving day 2006
Pelicans I photographed at the Salton Sea.
If you know what they are or what breed of Pelican they are please let me know.

About 1/2 mile out on the Salton Sea there appeared to be a small island or sand bar.
There is a sand bar leading out that way so I think I shall walk as far as I can.

I shall call this an afternoon on
PELICAN'S ISLAND.

After about 890 steps I came to the water's edge & that's where I set my tripod and camera up.
But I still was at least 1/4 of a mile from the birds, O'well I'll give it my best shot anyway.
Oh, one other thing, it was almost sun set so the lighting is going to be very BAD!
Camera Nikon D70s, ISO set at 1600, lens 600mm vr with an f/stop of f/4.5, and a 2X teleconverter on it on a digital camera equals approx. 1800 mm lens.
