This page was transferred from the Paton's part of the this web site.
That is why there are instructions to locate the cavity the
owl is in.

The Western Screech Owl that Marion Paton has named Winky.

She says they named it Winky because it usually looks at you with one eye open at a time.

As you start to pass through the gate into the back yard stop.
Now look directly 90 degrees to your right into the horse pens.
Just beyond the fence there is a tree that has 2 trunks going up.
We want to be looking at the one on the left.
Proceed up the tree until you come to the first crouch.

It is in this crouch the Owl has found a cavity and has made it its home.
Now remember the Owl is the same color as the tree bark, and you could be
looking at the Owl and not even know it. So let's take a
look at "WINKY" the Western Screech Owl.

In this next photo we can see the crouch in which the is staying.
