It isn't raining rain I'll bet,
it's raining Ruby-crowned Kinglets.

Here at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon Oct. 6th, 7th, 8th, & 9th 2006

They would fly into the trees & bushes by the flocks of dozens.

Now, the trick will be how to keep up with them as they flit from branch to branch
and then they would all fly to another tree in one big flock.

By the end of the day I felt like I was walking up to my knees in the asphalt walk way along the edge of the canyon.
Man, I am much to old for this kind of carring on

One of the most difficult birds to photograph because it never is in one place
more a second or two.

Remember now, it was very cold, well maybe not very cold, just miserably cool.
The wind was blowing approximately 25 M/P/H gusting up to 40 M/P/H.
The temperature I would guesstamate to be around 40 plus.

So, with my heavy coat on, a nice wool scarf, warm gloves, & my hat pulled down as far as I could get it down,
I stated off to the bushes along the rim walk way. Sure hope I don't get blown over the edge :-)).

About 9:00 AM the influx of R/C Kinglets started.
Within minutes almost every tree, & bush where full of them.
With the wind blowing & the birds flitting from branch to branch continueously I am surprised I even got any good photos,
and I didn't get to many goods ones. But here they all are.

The good, the bad, the almost in focus, the in focus, the where the heck is the bird, no bird, all most got a photo of the bird,

Remember as you look at these images only the male has the red spot on the top of the head.
