**************************

May 18th.

*********************************************************

Now this will truly be the last time I visit this nest site.

I had gone back one other time and thought the nest was empty.
As you can see, no matter how big they get, they can hunker down in the nest.

***************************************

It's now almost impossible to tell the chicks from the adults.

********************************

I'm the biggest bird in the nest--

**************************************

NO-

I'm the biggest bird in this nest.

**********************************************

I think the parent bird is a bit afraid of the chicks.

********************************

As I have said before the chicks will grab the parents bill and pull it down
to the bottom of the nest to encourage it to regurgitate some food.

*********************************************

I noticed that one of the parent birds now has a an open wound in the back of its neck.

***************************************

**********************************

Well that is it for the Great Blue Heron family.
sure hope you have enjoyed it as much as I did photographing it.

*************************************************************

One last thing before I sign off. I found this bird in the top of the nest trees over looking the situation.

****************************************

Even though it is looking down into the Heron nest,
I do believe it would be just a little beyound the
Osprey's ability to grab one of those chicks. After all they are bigger than the Ostrey.

Sure enough it did fly away in a few minutes after I had found it.
