Third Picnic area Garden Canyon Fort Huschuca, Sierra Vista, Arizona.

About 15 or so people/birders were standing in the middle of the road just where it turns into a gravel road at the third picnic area looking and pointing up to the top of a Sycamore tree.

OH, look several said simultaneously; it's a Gray Hawk in a nest!!

So, with camera in hand I sauntered over to where they all were.
The only thing I could see was a birds tail hanging out over the edge of the nest.
Even though I am not a pro birder, I could easily see it was no Gray Hawk.
I guess my only mistake was, I told'em it was no Gray Hawk,
WOW, did they ever come down on me.
Even with the tip of the tail showing I knew it was no Gray Hawk.
Based on the nest construction which I have seen many times and tree it was in I told all it was a Cooper's.

What say you about this tail.

No Gray Hawk ever had a tail that looked like that!
