Looks like it has lost its feathers on its forehead.

This is as close to getting a nesting White-winged Dove as I have been able to get.

Have you ever been out on the desert and you thought you heard something say
"Who Cooks For You"
or
"ooo uh cuck oo"?

Some have said it even sounds a bit like a rooster crowing.

It's the White-winged dove calling.
