Driving the Highways & Byways
of Arizona with Earle Robinson as he searches for Arizona Wild Life

*******************************************************

I just can't seem to stay away from the Grand Canyon.

I can remember the 1965 Robert Wise's song and movie
"The Sound of Music"

So I have decided to call this trip to the Grand Canyon

THE SOUNDS OF NUTCRACKERS

********************************************************

Well, enough of that hanging over the edge to get a photograph. I think I will take a drive out to Desert View Point on the East end of the South rim drive. It's the farthest most point East from the Grand Canyon Village on the south rim.

Poking my lens through the tree branches didn't seem like much of a way to take pictures, but what are you to do when the birds don't come out? And there was always a branch in the way to block my flash so these will not be good images.

************************************

I am calling this bird a Mountain Chickadee. It's a chick but I can see white above the eye in most of the images even though it is very small.

There are 12 large images here please wait for them to load.

Look for this white marking on the other shots.

You can see this is a chick and its markings are not complete or adult correct yet.

If you feel I am in correct in my identification, please feel free to let me now.

Yellow at the base of the bill indicates it's a young bird.
