Driving the Highways & Byways
of Arizona with Earle Robinson as he searches for Arizona Wild Life
*******************************************************
I just can't seem to stay away from the Grand Canyon.
I can remember the 1965 Robert Wise's song and movie
"The Sound of Music"
So I have decided to call this trip to the Grand Canyon
THE SOUNDS OF NUTCRACKERS
*****************************************************************
Sometimes they would land/perch so close to me I almost could not take their picture.
Many times they did get so close I could not photograph them so I just did not move and sat and watched them.
*********************************
How nice and wonderful it was to be this close to nature and the wild life.
**************************************
If you will notice the one bird on the left has its beak open contributing to the loud chirping or calling, or what it was they were all doing most of the time.
*******************************************
Even though this is a glitch in the film, I can still visualize this bird thinking;
OH NO, what I have done now,
is this some kind of an Oman to make me shape up or the big bird up yonder maybe coming to get me!!
***********************************************
A few very good images of the Clark's Nutcracker when it perched in just the right place for a photo with the canyon in the background.
You might notice the various shades of grays and whites on these birds. Many are darker than the others.
****************************************
It may also be the lighting conditions that create the various grays and whites to be different.
*********************************
Many times a half a dozen would try to perch on this dead branch only ending up to half to find another place to perch.
**************************************
In some cases they look as if they are in a molt or just coming out of one.
*************************************
These last two images speak for them selves, there's nothing I can say to make them any better.
