Well, now that we had our snack, let's take a short walk along the rim.

Rule #1: Never/ever climb on or try to step over the rim wall.
It could be as much as several thousand feet straight down.

The fall may not hurt, but that sudden stop at the bottom is absolutely devastating.

********************

Rule #2, do not feed the wild life.

OH me; OH my; they must have read those do not feed the wild life signs.

Oh well, I needed to go on a diet any way.
Darn those old signs any way.

**********************************************

Walking west along the rim you will pass the Bright Angel Lodge.

It has rooms, restaurants, and;

cabins.

**************************

As soon as you walk up the steps and in the door of the Bright Angel Lodge this is the first scene that greets you.

Off to the right is the entrance to the restaurant & gift shop, to the left is the lodge registration desk
and next to that is the Mule ride to the bottom of the canyon registration desk.

**************************************

Let's take a closer look at what's above the fire place, OK?

This the Thunderbird emblem, meaning is the power of the air. I don't know if is Hopi or Navajo.

******************************

Note the original old beam construction.

************************************

While walking through the gift shop I saw this T-shirt, it was quite cute.

I made it big so you could read what was on it.

*************************************************

If you were to walk out the canyon exit door of the Bright Angel Lodge this is what you would see.

The canyon is just over that wall on your right

********************************

However, please be advised to read that yellow sign in the center back ground.

**********************************************************************

Looking for the California condors?

Follow this sign to lookout or Kolb studio

We're going to the left.

***************************************

This is what you will see.

*************************

Many times I have seen the condors in the early morning roosting on the cliff below.
There is a rock called "Diving board rock" most generally the condors are on it.

******************************

Arrow is pointing to "Diving board rock"

***************************

There is a condor roosting in this photo but it is very small. It's just a black spot.

*********************************

Along the way there will plaguers explaining what it is you are viewing.

On my first day at the canyon it was a bit hazy do to a forest fire
on the north rim some 10 to 15 miles north across the canyon.

Forest fire center across the canyon.
See the black smoke rising from the forest.

keep taking the tour, why not?
