I took this photo (attached) of the Northern Hawk Owl yesterday 3/5/05 west of Manly, Iowa with a Canon 1D Mark II with a Canon 500mm f4 IS with a 1.4X TC on a tripod. I used a Canon 580 flash with a Better Beamer. ISO 250, f/6.3 at 1/640 sec. Cropped, red eye eliminated, stroke added on Photoshop CS.
