There are about 60 spices of Sunflowers two-thirds of which grow in the U.S.. Some are woodland plants but most like sunny places. Most abundant in the west in prairies The seeds attract game birds and song birds. In Arizona will find these along road sides and in fields. These were found around Arivaca, Arizona.
