Hand holding the camera doing hummingbird fotos is not good.
What I think I shall do is this; let the flash furnish most all of the light and crank down the f/stop to about f/22 this will eliminate some of the ambient light causing the back ground in some cases to be a bit darker darker, maybe.
So, let's have a look-see.
I do believe these will suit you much better.
Many time I only get the tail of a bird flying out of the photo and I call it a tail shot;
but this time I was to quick and only got the head so, this time I shall call this my hummingbird head shot. :-))

This is my favorite photo. The bird is rubbing its foot along its bill
*************************************
Now it's rubbing its bill on that branch. A lot of bill rubbing going on.
*************************************
I would guess this image is approximately 2 time the size of the bird.
********************************************
Well, don't you think you taken just about enough photos Earle?
*************************************
So I left it alone and went to another part of the garden to see what if any thing was flying and drinking nectar.
