This old hen comes in about 4:30 P.M. almost every day,
and some times, comes in at lunch time too.

The week end while I was there it looked like someone(s) were having
one heck of a weenie roast over on the mountain side.
Actually this is a view of a part of the Ash Canyon Fire June 21, 03.

Now, if you're surfing or scanning the terrain for those elusive hummers, and or any other birds that may be in the trees,
and you just happen to get a glimpse of some thing bright red, white & black
.

A Giant Mesquite Bug.

Not much to look at from the front.
Wonder if those are its eyes out the antennas?
They don't bite, or maybe, I should say, it didn't bite.
I picked one up and let it crawl on me.
It jumped off in a few seconds and back into the tree.
