I would like to start our Grand Canyon tour out at Flagstaff, and, we shall take the scenic drive, highway 180 up and around the San Francisco Mountains. Date Sept. 2001. You will soon see why I have choose this route.

	Yes, that's exactly what I said too. Very beautiful. Driving north out of Flagstaff, this is the first sight you will see. Looking east, up at the San Francisco peaks it looks like an artist pallet ,and you will want to see it up close. One week later
But in order to do that, one must take a short side trip up the mountain. As you can see the road is a hard surface road and very easy to navigate.
	At this point you will be approx. 9000 high.
As we continue up the mountain the scenery just keeps getting better.

I had said earlier, the roads were all hard surfaced. However, you may, if you want, take a side trip on one of the many unpaved roads.

As you can well imagine, I did take many side trips,
and many more pictures than I can show here,
but you should get a good idea of just how beautiful it was from these few images.

We'll never make to the Canyon at this rate, so let's head on up the road to the Grand Canyon.
