*******

Condor is in center of photo.

******************************

Many of the Condors would perch for the night on these canyon walls in
places you wouldn't thing any thing could get a foot hold. The sun has just
come up and I would guess it is warming it self before taking off to soar over the canyon.

***********************

There she goes.
As you can see there isn't much room on that ledge especially for a
bird that is approx. 20 pounds and with a 9 foot wing span.

Some mornings they would sun them selves for hours and
other mornings they sun for only a few minutes.

***************

Do you think this number 4 is playing "Hide & Seek"
Actually she just flew across the gorge about a 1000 feet from where she had roosted all night.

**************

Number 4 again.
She flew back to just above her night roosting spot
and started sunning her self again.
In case you don't see the bird to well it is facing you with its wings out spread.

These photos are a bit what we call soft focus.
This is because I am using my 500mm with a 2X & a 1.4X tele converter
on it that makes the lens equal to about a 1400mm lens plus
I am steadying it on the rocks on the rim wall and not a tripod.
I am shooting wide open at a 60th. of a second.
