Here you'll discover the intricate beauty and many faces of Arizona's oldest botanical garden.
See desert plants from all over the world, towering trees, captivating cacti, sheer mountain cliffs,
a streamside forest, panoramic vistas, many natural habitats with varied wildlife,
a desert lake, miles of easy nature trails, a hide canyon, specialty gardens of herbs, desert legumes and more.
Founded in 1924 by mining magnate William Boyce Thompson,
this unique 300 acre mosaic of gardens and natural areas is both a
National Historic district and an Arizona State Park.

Well, now that I am all rested up let's take a squint at that Cactus Garden.
I sure hope the folks in here aren't all stuck-up.
******************************************
A few quick images, I don't like cactus needles so I am walking very carefully through here.
I herd a young man in the back ground behind me say
"mommy, what are those things on the cactus?"
"Don't touch" was the reply, but all to late.
He may not know what they are, but, I'll bet you, he won't try touching them again.

Their name says it all, Barrel cactus.

There must be at least one of every kind of cactus in the world here.
**************************************
A couple of BOOJUM trees.
May not have the spelling correct, but pronounce it the way I spelled it & you got it right.
**********************************************
Well. I made it through with out getting one thorn in me any where.
*********************************************
I did notice a couple of unusual looking plants/trees or what ever next to those BOOJUM trees so I am showing it here.

In the fall of the year. Here is one of my favorite trees.
A Honey Locust.

I have only scratched the surface on showing you all of the incredible views at
Boyce Thompson, but maybe in the near future I will add more photos here.
I can see the ole sun is starting to go down in the west so I had better head for home for now.
