Here you'll discover the intricate beauty and many faces of Arizona's oldest botanical garden.
See desert plants from all over the world, towering trees, captivating cacti, sheer mountain cliffs,
a streamside forest, panoramic vistas, many natural habitats with varied wildlife,
a desert lake, miles of easy nature trails, a hide canyon, specialty gardens of herbs, desert legumes and more.

Founded in 1924 by mining magnate William Boyce Thompson,
this unique 300 acre mosaic of gardens and natural areas is both a
National Historic district and an Arizona State Park.

I sure am getting hungry so I think I will stop by the picnic area and have a quick snack.
Their picnic area has many tables and fire places.

Also while having your snack or lunch you may want to keep a look
out under the bushes and or shrubs, you just never know what you may see.

While I eat my lunch I saw several things that just might be of interest to you.
Click HERE to see what I saw that afternoon.

OK, now that I am refueled let's continue with the tour.

*******************************

Right adjacent to the picnic area is the beautiful Demonstration Garden.
This one my favorite spots in the Garden.

*******************************************

Wait a minute, before we go in, I think I hear music.
Sometimes there are entertainers in the park,
so don't be surprised if you too here music some times.

I believe to day there was or were several groups of folk singers
performing in various places through out the park.

***************************************************************

Back to the Demonstration Garden.

Just in case you haven't noticed by now, there are many-many
places to sit and rest you bones along each and every trail or pathway.

This is the first sign you will come to explaining the Garden.

******************************

As you look off to the right you see this sign.

**********************************************

Why not sit here a while and just enjoy the view?

**************************************************

Farther on down the path you will encounter this gazebo or what I call a learning center.
I call these learning centers because they tell all about the area you are in and why it is the way it is.

**********************************************

**********************************

Let's go up and see what it says on that large display.

***********************************

Ha yes, here's another one of my favorite places.
It's OK to have more than one favorite place in the Garden.

*****************************

A very nice place to sit, rest, and get a nice cool drink from the fountain just inside the entry way on the right.

****************************************

Yep, there's my chair right where I left it the last time I was here.

****************************************

Yes. there are Goldfish in that pond and many birds come here to drink the cool water in the summer.

*****************************************

Just adjacent to this area is the

***********************************

In order for you see it in its entirety I had to put 2 photos together.

*********************************

***********************************

Another bench to rest on, and what a view while while resting.

*******************************

**********************************

Well how much nicer could it get?

**********************************************

Continue.
